Custom hand built 8 string bass (never gigged, as new)
This is a custom 8 string bass guitar lovingly designed & hand-built by one of Paris’s master luthier craftsmen at Guitare Garage back in 2006. Based on John Entwistle’s Alembic Explorer series, only the finest sourced materials & electronics were used in its conception with no expense spared. The quest was to produce an 8 string bass that had never commercially existed before, having all the thunder & rumble of The Ox’s 4-strings but also capable of searing clean tones if needed & with the emphasis on playability. It features a 5 piece thru-neck, mahogany body, maple back & table, black ebony fretboard, Gotoh tuners & mother of pearl inlays. This 24-fret monster is powered by an active Delano Xtender (push-pull volume to split PUP), bi-band ‘John East’ bass/treble + boost & active/passive switch & everything rides over a Badass Bridge III. Has never been gigged and kept light/smoke free for many years.
