AIRLINE HARMONY METEOR H-70 de 1960

Une Harmony Meteor H70 de 1960 en excellent état et en parfait état de marche. Cette Meteor vintage porte la marque « Airline » sur la tête, et a été fabriquée par Harmony aux Etats-Unis exclusivement pour le catalogue Montgomery Ward. En tant que tel, ce modèle a quelques touches esthétiques uniques exclusives à la variante Airline, avec un cordier  » harpe » orné, des micros Gold Foils « moustache », et des boutons « cupcake » marron en backélite. Ce qui a fait de la Meteor  un instrument unique parmi les hollowbodies Harmony, c’est sa table en épicéa, qui a un son plus complexe et plus riche que les tables en érable que l’on trouve sur toutes les Rockets, Rebels et autres modèles du préfixe H ! Il n’est pas étonnant que les Meteors se soient retrouvées entre les mains de musiciens tels que Keith Richards et Dave Davies au début de leurs carrières respectives, car ce modèle est particulièrement polyvalent, puissant et détaillé. Il n’y a vraiment rien qui puisse égaler l’équilibre, la clarté et le caractère sonore général d’une bonne paire de micros De Armond Gold Foils. Ils ont un son percutant, des basses tendues et des médiums riches en harmoniques qui sonnent bien quand chaque micro est isolé ou associé! A noter que le précédent propriétaire a fait poncer l’arrière du manche afin de lui donner un coté mat qu’il préférait au toucher. Livrée en housse.

A 1960 Harmony Meteor H70 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This vintage Meteor bears the “Airline” mark on the headstock, and was made by Harmony in the USA exclusively for the Montgomery Ward catalog. As such, this model has some unique aesthetic touches exclusive to the Airline variant, with an ornate “harp” tailpiece, Gold Foils ‘mustache’ pickups, and brown backelite “cupcake” buttons. What makes the Meteor unique among Harmony hollowbodies is its spruce top, which has a more complex, richer sound than the maple tops found on all Rockets, Rebels and other H-prefix models! It’s no wonder that Meteors found their way into the hands of musicians such as Keith Richards and Dave Davies early in their respective careers, as this model is particularly versatile, powerful and detailed. There’s really nothing that can match the balance, clarity and overall sonic character of a good pair of De Armond Gold Foils pickups. They have a punchy sound, taut bass and harmonically rich mids that sound great when each pickup is isolated or paired! Note that the previous owner had the back of the neck sanded to give it a matte finish, which he preferred to the touch. Supplied in case.
